WinnerContests are a great way to engage with current patients, bring in new patients, and generate overall fun in practices, especially specialty practices.

Facebook by it’s very “social” nature presents an excellent opportunity for contests, but they must conform to Facebooks guidelines.

Facebook set in place  Promotions Guidelines  governing how promotions can be run on Facebook, yet every day a vast number of page admins violate Facebooks rules and run the risk of having their pages disabled completely.

Anytime you have a contest or campaign on Facebook and you will select a winner, that falls under the terms of Facebooks Promotions Guidlines.

If you are a page admin, page owner, or involved in any way with Facebook promotions, I strongly recommend you become very familiar with how to safely run contests and promotions within Facebooks rules.

Social Media Examiner has an excellent post on Facebook Promotions: What You Need To Know.   This post breaks down and goes into detail “in plain English” Facebooks contests rules.

Side note quoting from within Social Media Examiner’ s above post:

A promotion where you select winners is not to be confused with you simply promoting and marketing your business–that is exactly the reason Facebook (fan) pages were designed!

How are you promoting contests on Facebook?  Has this post been beneficial to you for running promotions on Facebook?

It is amazing how many pages are running contests and not aware of they are in violation. Has FB taken down many pages, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t want to take that risk. Glad this helped out! Thanks, Regina! :-)
